Should you reach out to hiring managers?
As a former recruiter, the answer is Yes!
You should reach out to both the hiring manager and the recruiter.
Recruiters are humans and sometimes miss you connection invite. If you reach out to the hiring manager, and you’re qualified for the role that will be impactful.
Here’s a sample message:
“Dear (Hiring Manager’s name),
I came across your open position (job title), I’m interested in the position and I’ve applied to the role online.
(Add 1-2 sentences about how your experience matches the job description)
I would love to set up 15 minutes to go over your expectations for this role and my background. Please let me know what your availability looks like.
I look forward to speaking with you soon.
