  • Include the correct search phrases, abbreviations, acronyms, keywords, power words, and buzz-words.

 

Not complying with the terms listed above will most definitely mean your resume gets eliminated.  The ATS system can only read specific file formats, and can only read text.  If it comes across pictures or charts it cannot read, it will eliminate the resume.  The same goes for spelling and typos – the ATS system scans your resume for keywords and search phrases set up by the hiring manager.  Even if you have those phrases written in your resume, but have made a typo, you will not make it past the ATS system.
